The
Ready-Room
How many times have you been on a server and
wished you could change something, but there’s no admin around, so tough
luck you just have to make do? Well not any more! You see the problem
has always been that you can’t just go giving out your admin password to
anyone as they could ruin your server. So we have made a new level of
security and configuration for Follow Freeman servers, which gives the
server administrators the option to give out a password to trusted
players and clan members, who can then use the game control console in
the ready room to easily configure their game without having to hassle
the admin, and without the risk of them killing the server.
This new and unique feature brings unprecedented configurability to
online servers by their players, as and when it is needed. Many more
members of the community will be able to setup games in the way they
wish for a session. This also saves server administrators time, money
and bandwidth, as there is no need to run multiple semi-populated
servers, each with different configurations.
In
the ready room Players can also vote for the chapter they wish to play
next, select the difficulty from 0 to 9 and various other features.
coming soon to the ready room will be even more innovative and fun
features. The ready room may seem a little disorienting at first but its
actually very simple and you will feel right at home after a short time

Public Information Board
This is the
public information board which displays the settings of the game for
all the players when they join the Readyroom. This board is fully
dynamic and even restores settings after returning to the Readyroom
from a mission. |
 |
Information Screens
On either side of the
spawning area are information screens on one side we have details on
the chapters and the mission objectives and on the other game-play
info such as the scoring system and options

 |
Admin Teleporter
To change the settings
of the game a player will need to use the admin teleporter which
scans the player to see if they have clearance (to check you have
entered the Follow Freeman admin password) before teleporting the
player upstairs to access the control console. |
 |
Game Control
Console
Once past the admin
teleporter the player reaches the game options control console.
To use it the player can press “use” on the “select” button in the
lower panel to change which option is selected. The currently
selected option is underlined. Then the on and off buttons will
either enable or disable the selected option or cycle through the
available settings.
Option 1 ranked
server
When enabled this will connect the server to our database so players
stats and high scores can be saved onto our website.
Option 2 Game mode
This cycles through the available game modes
Option 3 Story Mode
This option changes the way the game progresses from chapter to
chapter. When story mode is on players are taken directly from one
chapter to the next as in the single player game. This preserves the
game balance of the original single player experience and gives the
players a greater sense of immersion in the game world. When you
turn story mode off, after a chapter is completed players return to
the Ready-room to vote on which chapter they wish to play next and
visit the shop to spend their hard earned points on goodies for the
next mission.
Option 4 Elimination
The dreaded elimination mode can now be turned on or off at the
press of a button.
Option 5 Friendly Fire
Good old friendly fire always provides a greater challenge to
players and makes for some fun times |

Voting Zone
Control
On the other side of the
control console we have the voting zone controls. This will open or
close access to the different voting zones of the Readyroom so
server administrators can choose what type maps can be voted for by
players.
The three areas players currently have access to in
this release are through the door way past the administration area.
